The Rise of the Ron Paul Democrat

A few days ago, I made a post in mockery of Paultard "pshycology". It was fun for a laugh and all, but sure enough, in the past few days, I've noticed a lot of Paultards following ship. Has anyone else seen a rise in the self proclaimed Ron Paul democrats, or is it just me?

For those of you who aren't familiar with the Ron Paul democrats, it basically goes like this. They'll usually be in their late teens, and claim that they had affiliated themselves with the democrats for their entire lives, but after conducting some unbiased independent research (Re: Youtube), they are no planning to jump ship and join the Ron Paul bandwagon. They will urge their "fellow" democrats to be willing to cross party lines, and vote for Ron Paul.

So what defines a Ron Paul democrat? Well, usually, they're staunch believers in the Austrian School of Economics, who claim that taxes are a form of theft and that "men with guns" will come by if they don't pay. They support a return to the gold standard. They oppose labor laws, labor unions, and the minimum wage. They might claim that they disapprove of climate change and racism, but they believe that the invisible hand is the best solution to address it. They don't mind "don't ask, don't tell," and they consider gay sex immoral. They think that life begins at conception, and that abortion is a form of murder. There's a good chance that they don't accept the theory of evolution.

Most real world democrats are nowhere near that conservative. In fact, most republicans aren't even that conservative. Chances are that the typical Ron Paul "democrat" can't name a single policy that they disagree with Ron Paul on. Which means that they're either republicans, or they're life long Dixiecrats. The Paultards have realized that they're not gaining much traction within their own party, so they're deluding themselves into believing that Ron Paul has bipartisan appeal. When will the Paultards realize that they're not going to win many votes with these sorts of tactics?

Sounds like they're trying to use the Reagan Democrats idea and apply it to Ron Paul, seeing as he's already so popular with the GOP.

Surely there's some Paultard = Paleo-conservative = DINOsaur joke in there somewhere.

LOL. Right! A democrat supporting paul!?

Paultards are so desperate that they have to try to use psychological tricks.

Has anyone suggested Honor Suicide to the paultards?

I agree with your arguments. Ron Paul is anything but a Democrat. I don't understand why anyone who believes in big government, abortion, excessive regulations, high taxes, the nanny state, etc. would support him.

I also don't understand why Republicans don't support him. He's the only true conservative still in the race.

I don't understand why Democrats claim to be founded by Jefferson. Jefferson founded a party often called the Democratic- Republicans. Jefferson was anything but a modern-day type liberal.

I also don't understand why African-Americans support the Democrats. The Democratic party was responsible for the racist policies in the South. The Civil War started because the Southern Democrats didn't want Lincoln as President. The Democratic welfare programs have doomed those left in the inner-cities to generations of poverty and sub-standard education.

Let's face it! Most people don't take the time to think up their own political beliefs. They listen to the media, or their neighbors, or their Union leaders, or simply check a party box at election time.

You also don't understand that political parties evolve over time in response to the changing attitudes and demands of the people.

That's because you're a Paultard, which means you don't accept the Theory of Evolution at all, because Ron Paul doesn't either.

Let's face it! Most people don't want to set the country back by 100 years.

And yes, people do listen to their neighbors, because they like to talk to people in the real world. You Paultards should try it sometime.

This is what I was referring to when I said "Which means that they're either republicans, or they're life long Dixiecrats."

One problem there: Paultards usually creep out their neighbors. And for good reason.

First of all, "Dont Ask, Dont Tell" was a policy set by Democrat President Clinton and it is a policy that Ron Paul openly opposes. I don't know how Ron Paul feels about gay sex, but I do know he does NOT want the government to be involved in that area of anyone's life.

Secondly, I am a former Democrat and a former Green Party member. I am also a geologist. I don't agree with Ron Paul on abortion, and I don't actually care if he believes in evolution. The reason is that it is not relevant to the role of the Federal government in our lives. I do not want to live in a communist country! If you don't understand that, then you can't understand why people support Ron Paul.

It's amazing how Paultards seem to know less about their candidate than his critics:

MR. SPRADLING: Congressman Paul, a question for you.

Most of our closest allies, including Great Britain and Israel, allow gays and lesbians to openly serve in the military. Is it time to end “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy and allow gays and lesbians to serve openly in the U.S. military?

REP. PAUL: I think the current policy is a decent policy. And the problem that we have with dealing with this subject is we see people as groups, as they belong to certain groups and that they derive their rights as belonging to groups. We don’t get our rights because we’re gays or women or minorities. We get our rights from our creator as individuals. So every individual should be treated the same way.

So if there is homosexual behavior in the military that is disruptive, it should be dealt with. But if there’s heterosexual sexual behavior that is disruptive, it should be dealt with. So it isn’t the issue of homosexuality, it’s the concept and the understanding of individual rights. If we understood that, we would not be dealing with this very important problem.

MR. BLITZER: Is there anyone here who believes gays and lesbians should be allowed to serve openly in the United States military? If you do, speak up now. (Silence.)

Scott, go ahead with your question.

----------------

So Ron Paul claims that gays and straights should be treated the same way, but openly endorses a policy that specifically discriminates against them, and doesn't believe that they should be allowed to serve. Right.

//The Democratic welfare programs have doomed those left in the inner-cities to generations of poverty and sub-standard education.//

next cite reports that back this up because our greatest social spending effort or in other words cut the poverty rate in half. proof of this is the fact that the povery rate continued to decline from 1964 to 1976 despite there being several reccions dureing the early 70s and other economic problems. it wasent untill benniftis were cut by reagan that dureing a recesion the poverty rate jumped. Secondly middle class entitlemnt programs such as social securty and medicare are perhaps the most popular programs in this country that almost all middle class familys support. wow ron paul no wonder you arent going to win when you have already declared class warfare on the majority of the population. instead of defending welfare though i would suggest that our government create a WPA style work program to train the working poor.
